Hinkemeyer, Bayer and Buer land wins at I-94
By Ray BesteSauk Centre, Mn (Friday, August 21st, 2009) - Jeff Hinkemeyer scored his second win in as many weeks picking up the win in the WISSOTA Late Model action Friday night at I-94 Speedway. Danny Bayer picked up his second I-94 Speedway win of the season in the WISSOTA Modified division while Cody Buccheit (4-cylinders), Shane Sabraski (WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds) and Ryan Buer (WISSOTA Street Stocks) each collected wins as well.
The WISSOTA Street Stock A-main was won by Atwater, Mn driver Ryan Buer. Buer took the lead early on and never relinquished it during the 15-lap affair. Tim Johnson had another stellar run coming home second ahead of Justin Vogel, Chad Johnson and Josh Laney. Buer and Tim Johnson each collected WISSOTA Street Stock heat race wins as well.
Shane Sabraski continued his dominance by picking up another win in the WISSOTA Midwest Modified division. Sabraski started the event in the 5th position and ultimately proved to be the victor in the 25-car field. Corey Koenig, Jeremy Kerzman, Pete Loecken and Josh Muzik each collected top five finishes as well. Heat race wins were collected by Jamie Thorstad, Matt Weisman and Nate Barber.
The Legend car A-main was dominated by local product Brad Hartigan. Hartigan was bolted from the get go and went on to score the win. Tony Robertson, Jon Lewerer, Jake Varnum and Luke Hommerding rounded out the top five. Hartigan also collected the division's lone heat race win earlier in the evening which capped off the clean sweep for the Sauk Centre, Mn product.
For the second time this season, Danny Bayer reigned victorious in the WISSOTA Modified A-main. Bayer looked strong during the 20-lap affair which seen Travis Saurer take home the second spot. KRA Speedway regulars Craig Christiansen, Jason Voigt and Don Eischens rounded out the top five running order for the WISSOTA Modifieds. Bayer and Shane Sabraski each tallied heat race wins for the WISSOTA Modifieds.
For the second straight week, WISSOTA Late Model veteran Jeff Hinkemeyer picked up the win in the WISSOTA Late Model division. Hinkemeyer stole the lead from Seth Brede on the last lap scoring the win in the process. Thunder Bay, ONT traveler Joel Cryderman finished third behind the two aforementioned drivers. Shaun Peterson and Eric Breeschoten rounded out the top five for the WISSOTA Late Models. Hinkemeyer and Breeschoten were the victors in the division's pair of heat races.
The final event of the night belonged to Cody Buccheit who notched his first ever I-94 Speedway win in the process. Adam Olson, Shawn Fernkes, Nick Simar and Ben Godbee rounded out the top five running order for the 4-cylinder division.
