Sabraski doubles his pleasure at I-94
By Ray BesteSauk Centre, Mn (July 24th, 2009) - Shane Sabraski doubled up picking up the wins during action in the WISSOTA Midwest Modified and WISSOTA Modified divisions Friday night at I-94 Speedway. Sabraski completed the feet a couple times earlier in the season at the speedway, and did so once again this past Friday. Brady Johanneck scored a very impressive win in the WISSOTA Late Model finale while Justin Vogel picked up his second win in as many weeks in the WISSOTA Street Stock division. Andy Deters collected the win in the WISSOTA Mod Four finale while Pennock, Mn driver Ben Godbee reigned victorious in the 4-Cylinder division's feature event. Fans, pit crew members and drivers alike gathered once again for some great Amsoil Dirt Track Series racing, "I-94 Speedway Style."
Vogel started the evening's event with a win over Ryan Buer during action in the WISSOTA Street Stock division. Buer applied heavy pressure during the ladder stages of the event but it was not enough as Vogel went on to score the win. Josh Fredeen had a very nice run in the third spot ahead of Josh Laney and Christina Wollack. Vogel was also victorious in the division's lone heat race.
Sabraski and Dan Ebert swapped the lead several times before Sabraski was able to seized the advantage picking up the win in the WISSOTA Midwest Modified A-main. Jamie Thorstad made some mighty impressive moves during the 20-lap affair picking up the third spot ahead of Scott Gill and Roscoe, Mn driver Pete Loecken. The division's 24 combatants were divided into three heat races which were won by Ebert, Gill and Travis Saurer.
The WISSOTA Modified feature was dominated by Rice, Mn driver Shane Sabraski. Curt Lund and Danny Bayer battled for the lead early on in the race before contact ended each driver's night. That gave the lead to Sabraski who took off into the night scoring yet another feature win. Elizabeth, Mn hotshoe Travis Saurer finished in the number two spot ahead of Andy Miskowic, Ryan Aho and Melrose, Mn driver Scott Gilbertson. Sabraski and Gilbertson each tallied win in heat race action earlier in the evening for the WISSOTA Modifieds.
Andy Deters took the lead early on and picked up a very impressive win during action in the WISSOTA Mod Four division. Local product Kurt Deters moved forward from his row three starting position to finish second ahead of Kurt Deters, Tom Sabraski, Dustin Zieske and Tyler Larson. The division's competitors was divided into two heat races with Dean Larson and Andy Deters each scoring wins.
The WISSOTA Late Model division seen another first time winner with Spicer, Mn driver Brady Johanneck scoring the victory. Johanneck took the lead on lap four and never looked back on his way to a mighty impressive victory. The action was hot and heavy behind him with row five starter Jeff Hinkemeyer charging all the way up to second at the line. Johanneck was joined in the top five by Hinkemeyer, Shaun Peterson, Eric Breeschoten and Hibbing, Mn traveler Kyle Peterlin. Peterson and Jeff Wildung were victorious in heat race action earlier in the program for the WISSOTA Late Model division.
The final event of the evening belonged to the 4-Cylinder Short Tracker division. KRA Speedway regular Ben Godbee reigned victorious over the rest of the field picking up the win in impressive fashion. Shawn Fernkes had a very nice run coming home in the second spot ahead of Adam Olson, Adam Ewerts and Dean Peterson. Olson and Godbee each tallied a heat race win as well for the Short Tracker division.
